Jul 27, 2009· I got the rouckhounding bug, sooooo I went across Lake Champlain to check out the old iron mines in Mineville New York. The area was known for iron mining. The ore body was mined starting way back during the revolutionary war. The ore body wasite. I was able to get some good pics of the old open stope mines and one of a newer one.
